The COVID-19 global pandemic has had a significant impact on many industries including recruitment and executive search with many of the tried and tested successful traditional processes undergoing change. Many businesses are now experiencing uncertain situations and times and most certainly including the recruitment and headhunting industries. Some executive search companies have been forced to change their recruitment strategies from the bottom up causing recruiters to increasingly turn their attentions to more modern tools and digital technologies to attract new job applicants for their clients or even their own organizations. RSM Recruitment Thailand has also been affected.
Companies now are trying to find the best way to improve their recruitment processes by focusing on social media, recruitment automation tools and / or Artificial Intelligence (‘AI”). These new technologies are designed to streamline or automate some parts of the recruiting process for example sourcing, screening, and engaging the right applicants. These tools are also adopted to help find, attract and engage talented applicants, which makes it faster and easier to manage high volumes of candidates. As such, this enables recruiters to focus on more important aspects of the process saving time and costs while ensuring a more efficient recruitment process.
However, the potential downside to this is that the use of AI in the hiring process may not always be the best tool for companies that are looking to diversify their workforce. There are candidates who are competent in what they do and that who may be a perfect fit for the position required to be filled based on traits such as their character, personality, and work ethic whereby AI is not yet sufficiently advanced to identify these. Accordingly, it is still necessary to rely on human judgement rather than AI from time to time. Sometimes a face-to-face interview is the best option for a company to successfully recruit the ideal candidate depending on the roles to be filled and based on what its current needs are.
As AI technology becomes more advanced it will change the recruitment industry transforming and improving many of the traditional human resource industry processes and aspects in a positive way. However, it is and will always be important to keep in mind that human beings are still an essential part of all human resources processes though it is possible and even likely that technology will replace people in certain if not many tasks in the near future. The RSM Recruitment Agency Thailand is currently undergoing many exciting changes, which we will be divulging to our clients in the near future.
